Welcome, I am so glad you have stopped by. Please take some time to look around and get to know me.

Some seasons of life can feel crushing, leaving us unsure joy is still an option. Maybe you are even questioning God’s presence, love, or goodness at this moment. You are not alone. Thankfully, God is not offended or shut down by the ache in your soul. He draws nearer still and longs to hold you close in this current suffering.

I am no stranger to the feeling of hopelessness that life events can stir up within us. I have cried out to the darkness, “why me?”, “where are you now?”, and “how is this good?”. Please join me on my continued journey of trusting and resting in God’s steadfast nature and character to maintain hope and joy no matter the circumstance. I look forward to getting to connect with you.

"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned; and the flames shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:1-3 ESV
**** New Blog Post **** Dr. Robert Emmons, Professor of Psychology at UC Davis, found that having a heart of gratitude significantly impacts our lives. Gratitude releases toxic emotions, reduced pain, improves sleep, and reduces anxiety and depression[1]. I have found this to be true as well. When I am faced with a challenge, I try to write down or pray about what I am grateful for. Thank God that He has given us prayer – of all kinds. This is how I know God wants all of my heart. He wants our prayers of lament. Psalm 51 was written by King David, whom the Bible describes as “a man after God’s own heart.” I would venture to guess that prayers for the purpose of requesting God’s mercy, power, love, grace, favor, protection, healing, etc. are the most frequent and easily prayed prayers. Asking God for things for ourselves or others is easy to do. Do you ever feel guilty about asking for something or afraid to ask for something? No one fully understands why or how prayer has power. The best I can come up with is because God said so. You have probably heard this one a lot if you have been in church for any amount of time. The example goes something like this: There’s that dirty word: submission. It just makes your muscles tense, and your body withdraw. I bet you want to stop reading now. When we pray for others or something beyond ourselves it helps us develop empathy for others and an awareness to the things that steal our affection for the Lord.
